It’s almost time for the celebrations and sounds of Juneteenth, a national holiday commemorating when the last of slaves were set free in Galveston, Texas. Over the years, the nation has embraced the holiday as the freedom holiday, including cities around Miami.

The Juneteenth Experience by Hued Songs

From June 14-19, the performance collective Hued Songs presents their annual celebration of Black liberation through art. Expect a show that features music, poetry, dance, and visual media. The performance blends gospel, contemporary, and classical music. The Juneteenth Experience 2024 is a series of three events that will take place in two different venues: the Colony Theatre in Miami Beach and the historic Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale.
